ABC Art Baja California 2026: The Fair That Transforms Hotels, Theaters, and Courtyards into Creative Spaces

Written by Coolhuntermx on 2026-03-03

In Baja California, in March 2026, hotel rooms, theater walls, and sunlit courtyards along the Pacific will once again become spaces for dialogue, commerce, and community. The fourth edition of ABC Art Baja California opens an ambitious new chapter for contemporary art in Mexico.

From March 18 to April 5, 2026, San José del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz will form a creative triangle where artists, galleries, designers, musicians, and curious audiences come together. At the heart of this constellation is a new initiative poised to reshape the conversation: PLATAFORMA ABC.

PLATAFORMA ABC: An Art Fair Inside a Hotel

From March 19–22, 2026, Drift Hotel in San José del Cabo will be transformed into a Hotel Art Fair, featuring 29 exhibition spaces dedicated to the presentation and sale of contemporary art and design. Each hotel room will become a curated micro-gallery where galleries, design studios, collectives, and independent artists can showcase up to three projects.

Painting, photography, printmaking, collage, watercolor, textiles, traditional crafts, sculpture, and collectible design for interiors will engage visitors in an environment where conversation, collecting, and discovery happen side by side.

Among the confirmed participants are leading names on the national and international art scene, including AGO Projects, Enrique Guerrero Gallery, Proyectos Monclova, Travesía Cuatro, Nordenhake, and Lux Perpetua Art Centre, alongside galleries and creative projects from San José del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz, reinforcing the festival's commitment to decentralizing Mexico's contemporary art landscape.

Rather than competing with the major art fairs held in capital cities, PLATAFORMA ABC embraces a different scale—one that favors intimacy, meaningful professional encounters, and collecting within the hospitality and natural beauty of Baja California Sur.

A Festival Across Three Cities

Beyond the fair itself, ABC Art Baja California 2026 unfolds through a simultaneous program that transforms the region into a vibrant cultural circuit.

Running from March 18 to April 5, SALA ABC will take over Drift Hotel in San José del Cabo, as well as venues including Teatro Manuel Márquez de León and Centro Cultural Néstor Agúndez in Todos Santos, and Teatro Juárez in La Paz. The program will showcase two-dimensional works ranging from painting and photography to silkscreen prints and short films.

PATIO ABC will activate outdoor spaces with large-scale sculptures, site-specific installations, and performance art at venues such as Jazamango in Todos Santos and Baja Club in La Paz, where artworks interact with the wind, natural light, and the presence of visitors.

SONIDO ABC will expand the festival into the sonic realm through concerts, acoustic sessions, and musical collaborations, creating an immersive experience that extends beyond the visual arts.

Meanwhile, LOCAL ABC will bring together galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, and hotels presenting exhibitions and special events as part of the official program. ESTUDIOS ABC will invite local artists to open their studios to the public, offering direct access to creative processes and fostering meaningful exchanges between artists and audiences.

Together, these initiatives create a collaborative model that strengthens the region's creative economy while positioning Baja California Sur as a dynamic destination for contemporary art beyond Mexico's traditional cultural capitals.
